The Desert in Bloom

It is Spring in the Sonoran Desert, and the plants are alive with color.  The rain we had this past winter has created an explosion of color.  So I thought we souled dedicate a blog to the simple enjoyment of the color and beauty of the desert.  Not many words to this story, just a simple enjoyment of the magical beauty of the world we live in.

The trails are full with green and yellowIMG_6845

The cholla cactus are full of red and yellow blooms

The Prickly Pears are yellow, rose and pink.  They close at night and open in the warm sun.

And the king of the Sonoran, the Saguaro, is in full bloom. There are so many blossoms and flowers!  Even the crested ones are in bloom.

It really is a beautiful and peaceful place, the desert.  I hope you get a chance to enjoy it.

We missed the big bloom so this blog post is perfect for us. It looks like the weather has been great since we left in April and you are getting lots of hiking in. Keep posting as we always look forward to your next adventure.
