Play on Words

Not sure if you all caught the play on words in the title of our new Blog site.  For those of you who may be wondering, not only does it mean we travel out and back again to any destination named in the alphabet, but also that we travel out from Arizona (AZ) and return back again.

Over the past few years we have spent our winters hiding from the Iowa snow and cold by taking our motor home  down to Tucson, AZ for the winter.  Having lived there twice before during our time in the Air Force, we fell in love with the Sonoran Desert and truly enjoy all the outdoor activities Tucson has to offer.  In fact, we like it so much that we will be moving to Tucson permanently later this winter!  Surprise:)

House is still an empty lot.

Some of you may be asking how we can leave our wonderful home in Iowa, one that we put our hearts into renovating and restoring.  Well, after 14 moves in our marriage, thanks to the United States Air Force, the biggest thing we learned is that a house is just a house.  It is a home when we live there, but otherwise it is just a house.  We’ve lived in many wonderful homes over the years and though we were always sad to leave each house, the excitement of a new adventure in a new home was what we looked forward to.

So, we are off on yet another adventure as we start a new chapter in our life.  We have been increasingly determined to down-size and get rid of all the accumulated “stuff” that 30+ years of marriage creates and this is the perfect opportunity.

To make matters even better, we are so excited that our niece and her family will be moving into our house in Iowa and we are so looking forward to them making it their home.

Even with this move, we still intend to spend as much time as we can traveling in our motorhome to see and be a part of so much of this wonderful country we all call home. Thus the title of our new blog.

More to follow as our new adventure unfolds.
